No single brand is required. AI RunCoach reads your training data through Apple Health (iOS) or Health Connect (Android) — the platform-level health stores that most running watches and fitness apps already sync to. As long as your watch app writes workouts there, AI RunCoach picks them up automatically.
Enable the Apple Health (iOS) or Health Connect (Android) sync inside your watch's own app — most brands have this under Settings:
| iOS | Android | |
|---|---|---|
| Garmin Connect | Settings → Connections → enable Apple Health | Settings → Connections → enable Health Connect |
| Apple Watch | No setup needed — workouts go straight into Apple Health | iOS only |
| Coros | Profile → Settings → Apple Health, enable sync | Profile → Settings → Health Connect, enable sync |
| Polar Flow | Settings → Apple Health, enable "Share to Apple Health" | Settings → Health Connect, enable sync |
| Fitbit | Account → Apple Health, enable sync (varies by app version) | Account → Health Connect, enable sync |
| Suunto | Settings → Apple Health, enable sync | Settings → Health Connect, enable sync |
Once enabled, open AI RunCoach and grant Health/Health Connect access when prompted — your recent runs will appear automatically.
Any app that writes workouts to Apple Health or Health Connect works with AI RunCoach, even if it's not in the list above. If nothing appears, first confirm your watch app itself shows the workout, then check that Health/Health Connect sync is switched on for that app, and that AI RunCoach has permission (Settings → Privacy → Health on iOS, or the Health Connect app's "App permissions" on Android).
After each run, your coach reads your pace, heart rate, and how you felt. The next week's plan adjusts based on that data — lighter if you're fatigued, harder if you're progressing well.
Tell your coach about it when you set up your profile. The plan will work around it — no sessions that stress the affected area.
Absolutely. The system scales with your level — from complete beginners to experienced runners targeting a PB.

This is separate from reading your completed runs (see above) — this lets you push individual trainings from your generated plan onto your Garmin calendar. Garmin's developer API is currently suspended, so in the meantime we offer a one-time workaround script you run on your computer to set up this connection; once connected, tap "Send to Garmin" on any training in your schedule to push it to your watch.
The Garmin Koppelaar is a small program that connects your Garmin account to AI RunCoach, so your generated training schedule automatically appears in your Garmin calendar. Download it, open it, fill in your RunCoach and Garmin login details, and click "Koppelen":
| Mac | Windows | |
|---|---|---|
| Download | Download the .dmg and double-click it | Download the .exe and double-click it |
| Opening it the first time | Opens right away — the app is verified by Apple | Windows may show "Windows protected your PC" — click "More info" → "Run anyway" (only the first time) |
| Connect | Fill in your RunCoach and Garmin login details, then click "Koppelen" | Same |
That's it — you can now tap "Send to Garmin" on any training in your schedule to push it to Garmin Connect's calendar. Prefer the standalone Python script or entering a token manually? See the "Advanced" section on the download page.
We read your workouts from Apple Health or Health Connect (whichever your watch app syncs to), plus your Strava activities if you've optionally connected that too. To Garmin we separately write your planned workouts, so they appear on your watch calendar. We never share your data with third parties.
Yes. No lock-in, no cancellation fee. Your data remains yours.
A static plan doesn't know how your last run went. AI RunCoach does — and adjusts the next session accordingly.
